This Lemon Rosemary Simmer Pot Makes Your Home Smell Fresh and Cozy
Spring is in the air as we planted our flowers, and everything is blooming. It’s feels like a fresh start.
If you’re like me and your home needs a quick reset - but you don’t feel like deep cleaning - this is the easiest trick that I come back to again and again. This is a lemon rosemary cinnamon stovetop simmer pot and I think it makes your home smell fresh, cozy, and clean in minutes… using ingredients you probably already have sitting in your kitchen!
I also love this because instead of synthetic sprays and candles, this is a natural way to scent your home without putting any unnecessary chemicals into the air. I also recommend opening windows if the weather is nice to add to the fresh feel. Open windows, a lemon simmer pot simmering… gosh that is a stellar combo!
This is more of a method where you simmer fruit + spice + herbs in a pot on the stove and add water as needed.
I walk through how I make a simmer pot on Instagram here.
Here is my current favorite combination. ENJOY! Reach out or tag me @urban.apron if you do this, I would love to connect and see! It’s so fun to chat about this and also see the different combinations!
Lemon Simmer Pot
1-2 lemons, sliced
2-3 sprigs of fresh rosemary (if you don’t have rosemary, fresh thyme or mint also works! I will use whatever I have on hand. Dried herbs are as fragrant, but will work if you don’t have fresh)
2-3 cinnamon sticks
Directions:
Fill pot of water on the stove and add ingredeints. Simmer and add water as needed! Simmer as long as you’d like.
Reuse! After you are done simmering for the day, you can leave on stove or put in fridge and use again the next day! Just add water and simmer. I will use the same simmer pot for 2-3 days and just add more water and simmer.
Gas Stove? If you have a gas stove, you can bring to boil and then turn off and it’ll release the smell. Just bring to boil again and turn off if the smell wears off and want to keep it going.
