Why I Take Manukora’s Raw Mānuka Honey
I’m a big believer in simple habits that stick.
Lately, one of those habits has been taking a daily spoonful of Manukora’s raw Mānuka honey from New Zealand - I take it right after my Oliveda internals.
And honestly? I really love it. I actually look forward to taking it and just reordered another jar.
I originally started taking it because honestly, I kept seeing it on social media and it just really intrigued me (I love natural ways to improve my digestion and gut health… and I love honey!). And I mean, taking a spoonful of honey every morning sounded like a good idea to me lol! I started with the trial size and recently reordered and got the regular size!
What Is MAnuka Honey?
This was totally new to me, I had never heard of this kind of honey!
Basically - Mānuka honey isn’t your typical honey. I don’t even think it really tastes like the honey, it’s more like a caramel flavor than a honey flavor. And the texture is a lot different! It’s a loooot thicker and also not transparent in color, you can’t see through it, if that makes sense. It’s the consistency of a caramel sauce almost. It also has a spicy caramel bite to it, I think. Overall, it’s a lot richer in flavor. It also contains significantly more antioxidants than conventional honey. A main reason I wanted to try it out.
What really makes this honey different is a compound called methylglyoxal (MGO). MGO is a naturally occurring antibacterial compound found in the nectar of the Mānuka tea tree in New Zealand. It’s what gives Mānuka honey its unique wellness benefits. The higher the MGO, the more potent the honey. Cool, right?!
Regular honey is often processed and pasteurized with high heat - this destroys many of the naturally occurring and beneficial nutrients. And even if you purchase raw honey, you still won’t find ingredients like MGO!
The brand Manukora is worth going with for your manuka honey because of several reasons:
It’s sourced from New Zealand, where Mānuka honey is naturally produced
It’s third-party tested (so you know exactly what you’re getting)
Each jar is traceable, which I love
It’s made with a focus on ethical beekeeping and purity (love this!)
For me, it just feels like a really clean option! One you can feel good about.
RAW MAnuka Honey Benefits
This is why I tried this brand in the first place and why I continue to take it… For all the amazing health benefits.
Raw Mānuka honey supports:
Gut health & digestion
Immune function
Inflammation
Natural energy
Like many healthy habits, this is one you stick with to see the benefits over time.
My Daily Routine
I’m not doing anything fancy here. I am just adding a spoonful of this honey to my daily routine.
Every morning I do these things:
My Oliveda internals (i66, i70, i01- all supports gut/skin health and immunity)
Spoonful of Manukora Mānuka honey
2 brazil nuts (this sounds random, but these nuts help your skin health and you only need 1-2 a day!!)
What I love about these gut health rituals is that they are all natural whole foods!!! Internals from olive trees in Spain and then raw honey from New Zealand. I love supporting our health with whole foods. And I have a sensitive stomach so don’t like powders with additives.
My Honest Thoughts on Manuka honey
I don’t stick with things just because they’re trending, and I also don’t reorder things I don’t feel are worth it. I reordered this and will get it again after I finish my current jar (the jars last about a month, and you can also do an auto ship to save $$).
This stuff really does it for me. It’s simple. It’s natural. And it supports my gut and immune health without adding weird ingredients to my routine. And it feels like a treat (I mean, who doesn’t want to take a spoonful of honey??!)
It’s basically a win-win. I recommend this honey for anyone looking for a natural way to support gut health, energy and inflammation.
