A Sparkling Strawberry Drink

The sun is shining and the weather is amazing here in St. Louis! Always brightens my mood!

I’ve been hooked on this drink all month. Chad made a strawberry simple syrup with our Eckert’s Farms strawberries we picked and it’s been in our fridge all week and easy to add to cocktails and mocktails. I’ve put in my sparkling water and in a glass of Prosecco (can put this recipe in a champagne flute without the ice).

This drink will be on repeat this summer!

Strawberry simple syrup

  • 1 cup strawberries, sliced

  • 1 cup water

  • 1 cup sugar

Instructions:

  1. In a sauce pan, boil sugar, water and sliced strawberries.

  2. Once at a boil, let simmer 10 minutes and then turn off heat and let cool.

  3. Strain out strawberries with a fine mesh strainer and store syrup in the fridge.

Strawberry Sparkling Drink

  • 1 ounce strawberrry simple syrup

  • 1/2 lemon

  • sparking water or prosecco

Instructions:

  1. Add 1/2 - 1 ounce (use more if want sweeter) strawberry simple syrup to a glass filled with ice.

  2. Squeeze 1/2 a lemon and top with sparkling water.

  3. Mix it up with a spoon and top with strawberries. Enjoy!

  4. Cocktail version: If you do prosecco instead of sparkling water, omit the ice and serve in a cocktail champagne flute.
