Over the last two years as an Oliveda consultant, I’ve talked with so many people who are curious about what it actually looks like to be a consultant. Sometimes they’re curious because they love the skincare. Other times they’re wondering what the business side actually looks like.

Before I joined Oliveda (aka Olive Tree People), I had many of the same questions you probably do. What does the business really involve? Is it flexible? Are there quotas or requirements? Could it work alongside a very busy life?

What Is Oliveda?
Oliveda is a German waterless skincare + wellness brand with a 22-year-old reputation in Europe in salons and spas. What’s exciting is that it’s brand new to the United States - it just launched here 2 years ago and is the #1 fastest growing waterless beauty brand in the world as it enters global expansion (Canada, UK and more).
Oliveda carries something for everyone: olive oil, internals, skincare, body, hair and makeup products.
The brand is built around the ammmazing health benefits of the olive tree. Instead of using water as the main ingredient in the products - like most conventional skincare brands do - Oliveda uses a 100% bioactive olive leaf elixir rich in polyphenols to support skin health at a cellular level.
This approach in using the olive leaf elixir in place of water is referred to as “waterless beauty”, and it’s a big reason why the products have gained so much attention in the clean beauty space. That and the results people see are pretty unbelievable!
Many people (including myself!) first tried Oliveda because they’re looking for skincare that focuses on skin health rather than just covering up problems or quick fixes. We want healthy, glowing skin for the long term. Many also look into it because it’s extremely effective!
What Does an Oliveda Consultant Actually Do?
This is a common question and I get it - until you’re in it, it’s hard to know what it entails! As with anything in life.
At its core, the role is pretty simple: Oliveda Consultants have a personal affiliate link that they can share however they want to share it. If you have an Oliveda consultant link, it’s about sharing it in a way that works for you and that’s sustainable for you. You share your story with others, share about the products, how they have helped you, and help others pick out products for their own skin and needs.
Helping others as a consultant might look like:
sharing skincare routines or product experiences
posting about products on your social media
helping customers find products for their skin concerns
following up with customers who ordered with you to check in and guide them
sending a monthly newsletter
hosting small events
mentoring those who enroll with you as a consultant
There are so many different ways to share Oliveda, and nothing is required, which makes it pretty awesome. You get to find a way that works for YOU. Some people focus mostly on sharing products with their customers, while others also build a team and mentor new consultants.
What does my daily consultant activity look like? This definitely builds over time. When I first joined, I sent a newsletter out and started regularly talking about the brand on social media. I’ve developed simple systems for my day-to-day to fit in consistent activity. A lot of my day-to-day involves any of the following: thanking customers who order and giving them tips, following up with customers, mailing a thank you card to a new customer, sending a sample, posting on social media, writing a newsletter, checking in on my team, doing 1:1 mentor calls, planning team events and calls/training.
A main thing that attracts many people to becoming an Oliveda consultant is the flexibility. The business can be built alongside other responsibilities. You get to decide how much, when and how you share this. That kind of control over your consultant business is something you don’t find with a lot of things, and why I love it so much!! I find it so empowering and also it lets you use your own creativity and weave it into your life how you want. On the flipside, it takes someone who is self-motivated and self-disciplined because no one is telling you to show up and share this. To some, that makes is easy to push off and eventually months go by and they haven’t shared it with anyone and in turn, growth is slower. As a mentor, I help you make a plan you can stick to and see growth.
How do you know how to effectively communicate about the brand to others? I find the best way to share about this brand is to share your own experience with using the products and sharing your own story. We also have an endless supply of free product trainings, monthly team calls, sales trainings, and my own 1:1 mentorship. You truly go at your own pace and learn as you go and absorb the info over time.
Why I Personally Decided to Join Oliveda
When I first learned about Oliveda, I was just catching up with a friend and she told me she was using this brand and loving it. I wasn’t necessarily looking for this opportunity. But at the time, I was at a crossroads in life.
I was working part-time as an attorney, but financially it really needed to be full time. But, at the same time, I had my three young kids home with me a lot and in the summers, and the thought of adding more office hours just didn't feel like the right fit for our family. I had a vision for what life I wanted and was searching for the vehicle to get there.
After my conversation with my friend, I immediately looked into Oliveda and ordered out of curiosity - I trusted my friend and I also love learning about clean, high-quality products. I had seen Oliveda on social media, but no one I knew used it until now.
The more I learned, the more intrigued I became. The products are waterless (a term that was new to me!) and centered around nature and the olive tree (anything that has to do with nature I just love). It just felt different than other brands… in a way I couldn’t explain. I have to really feel the right things when I partner with a brand in this way, and this one just clicked for me.
And I thought: This is something I actually want to use, and it really excited me. And still excites me!
The brand also had a mentorship aspect to it - a business model I already really respected. I had prior consultant experience as a mentor with another clean brand for several years, and I knew how fulfilling, fun and meaningful this could be for my life. It's like having an affiliate link with a brand, but sooo much better.
Did I have a lot of time? No
Did I know everything about every OTP product? No
Was I a skincare pro? No
Am I an extrovert? No
I always say I had every excuse to say no to joining as a consultant and just pick up more hours as an attorney. But my WHY is a lot bigger than my WHY NOT. And when your vision for your life and the impact you want to make is stronger than any excuse, the answer is simple.
Oliveda soon became such a major part of my daily routine that I couldn't help but share about this brand with others. I recently shared how waterless has changed my life in a reel here.
I am not perfect but maybe that's the point. Maybe I am meant to be here to show others what is possible?!? I mean, if I can do it, gosh, the sky is the limit on what you can do!!!

What I’ve learned as an Oliveda consultant
After joining, I quickly learned how many people were just like me and searching for natural ways to age gracefully and fall in love with their skin. I wasn’t looking for a quick fix; so, I love that this is about long-term skin health. I also found so many were interested in the internals after hearing about some amazing results from others. So basically… I quickly learned that it’s not just me who was so intrigued when I learned about this brand!!!
When clients order with me, and then come back and reorder, I feel like it’s such a personal relationship we form as I help them and we connect on Oliveda and also life things. Connecting with others fills my cups in ways I didn’t realize I needed to be filled. I have a lot of other affiliate links with brands, and none allow me to have such a personal relationship with my clients (most affiliate links don’t even show you who ordered so you cannot even thank them!)
I’ve been amazed at how much community exists within this business. I’ve met so many amazing consultants from across the country and world, and what is fun is that we are all cheering each other on. And lifting each other up. One thing many don’t realize when they join as how it connects you to an amazing community! Many of who I talk to on a daily or weekly basis!
I also found that the business is more of a lifestyle and can fit into everyday life in a pretty natural way. There are no quotas or requirements which I love, so you really get to do it in a way that works for you and on your own timeline. You get to steer your own ship!
And finally- the brand is exploding and in the midst of global expansion with new product categories launching - so in general, being involved in a rapidly growing and exciting brand is really fun. I am always in awe at what the brand is doing every time I listen in on their weekly company-wide calls.
Who the Oliveda Opportunity Might Be a Good Fit For
Becoming an Oliveda consultant is an opportunity for anyone (you don’t have to apply or be approved!!!). Like any business opportunity, it may not be for everyone, but it can be a great fit for certain people.
It may be a good fit if you:
enjoy skincare, beauty, health + wellness
are self-motivated
want to dream again
like connecting with people and building community
are comfortable sharing products you love (or willing to learn how to do this!)
want flexible income you can build over time
enjoy social media or online content (not required but another way to share)
are in the health, hair, beauty space (like boutiques, spas and salons!)
Like anything worth doing in life, this takes consistent effort over time. In life and in this, success usually comes from consistency and genuine interest in what you’re sharing.
And remember - we all start somewhere and take the first step and that builds and builds as we learn and grow. The important thing is just to go out and get started!!
Common Questions About Becoming an Oliveda Consultant
How do you become an Oliveda consultant?
You can enroll here. As a mentor, I help get you set up and started. I am very hands on but also meet you where you are.
Once you join, you will immediately have your own affiliate link and receive access to a back office with training and resources. Our team also resources like team calls, a Facebook page and trainings that you will have access to.
How much does it cost to become an Oliveda consultant?
It’s $50 to enroll. This is a website/technology fee for the year, and it will renew annually. There are also consultant-exclusive sets you can purchase at enrollment or build your own set. This is a way to save 30%+ off your enrollment order!
Do Oliveda consultants have to carry inventory?
Nope! Orders are typically placed directly through your affiliate link to the website and then shipped to customers, so you don’t need to keep inventory.
Can you do the Oliveda business part-time?
Yes. Many consultants build the business part-time alongside other careers or while raising families. You get to decide how much time you want to put in and what you want out of it. You fit this into your life how you want to. 5 minutes a day, 1 hour a day, etc. And I am here to help you make a plan depending on what payoff you want out of it.
How do Oliveda consultants make money?
First, I cannot guarantee any income or make income claims, this is just a general outline of the different ways available for consultants to earn money.
Consultants can earn income 3 main ways.
Through product sales through their affiliate link (25% commission paid out weekly. With sales bonuses up to 35% commission).
Through mentoring other consultants who join them as a consultant. Mentoring is not required but one of my favorite parts about this opportunity and a great option if you want to grow in leadership and income with the brand. I also help you with this, so you are not alone in mentoring consultants.
Cash bonuses you can earn both monthly and quarterly.
Do Oliveda Consultants have to buy or purchase a certain amount each month?
No. There are no monthly quotas or purchase requirements.
Final Thoughts
For me, becoming an Oliveda consultant has been a way to share products I genuinely love while building something flexible alongside my life as a mom, attorney and blogger.
Like any opportunity, it isn’t the right path for everyone. But for people who enjoy skincare, wellness, connecting with others, and are self-motivated, it can be a really fun and fulfilling way to create additional income and community.
