The Best Chewy M&M Cookie Recipe

M&M Cookies

Do you love M&M cookies? It’s like a chocolate chip cookie but goes heavier on the brown sugar and it’s loaded with M&M’s instead of chocolate chips.

Whenever I think of M&M cookies, I think of this recipe. I also think of my brother, Tom, because this recipe is his favorite! My mom has made it since we were little. It’s also in my Urban.Apron Cookie Book, because it’s one of my top cookie recipes that I make. It’s perfect if you need a treat for a party, because it’s such a crowd pleaser.

Once you try this, you’ll understand the amazingness of this cookie!!!! If you make this recipe, be sure to tag me @Urban.Apron so I can see, and we can connect!

The Best Chewy M&M Cookie Recipe

  • 2 sticks (1 cup) unsalted butter

  • 1/2 cup white sugar

  • 1 cup brown sugar

  • 2 eggs

  • 1/2 tsp. water

  • 1 tsp. pure vanilla extract

  • 1 tsp. baking soda

  • 1 tsp. salt

  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 1/2 cups M&M’s (I use one 10-ounce bag)

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

  2. In a mixer, cream together the butter and sugars. Add in the eggs and water and mix to combine. Then, cream in the vanilla extract.

  3. Add in the baking soda, salt and flour and mix until fully combined and flour is mixed into the dough.

  4. Add in the M&M’s and stir until just combined. I save some extra to top the dough balls with the M&M’s.

  5. Scoop dough on cookie sheet and top each dough ball with a few M&M’s.

  6. Bake for 10-12 minutes, until the cookies are slightly becoming golden brown on the edges.
