a simple orange-berry smoothie

I call this smoothie “simple” because, well…

it’s just two ingredients that you probably already have on hand: oranges and frozen berries.

Oranges are in season until about May, so it is during these winter months that I just can’t get enough of them. A borderline obsession of mine.

Can’t relate? Go immediately to the store and buy some navel oranges or Cuties (mandarins). Keep them chilled in your refrigerator. Then peel and put them in a bowl. Eat a few and I think you will quickly start to understand what I’m talking about.

Just so refreshing, juicy and bright. Exactly what we need when this winter just won’t seem to quit.

So today I wanted to share a super easy and fun way that I like to enjoy oranges.  I first saw this idea in Whole Living magazine over a year ago. It’s a good one I keep on hand when I want a refreshing smoothie without a lot of fuss.

Just blend the oranges with frozen blueberries, blackberries, and raspberries. You can use all three types of berries, or just one.

This is a super clean and detoxifying smoothie. And I think it will make you smile.
