Easy Hugo Spritz Recipe (Our Favorite Summer Cocktail)
If you've been looking for an easy Hugo Spritz recipe to make at home, this is the one we've been making all summer.
One of the little things making this summer feel special has been sitting on our patio while the kids play, with this cocktail in hand. As long as no one is crying or fighting ;)
In my recent post, My Summer Favorites as a Mom of Three, I shared that our family is at our best when we aren't overscheduled. I really made an effort not to sign the kids up for a packed schedule this summer because we all get burnt out by nonstop activities.
So, here’s to more slow mornings with coffee, baking cookies with my kids, evening walks after dinner, and sitting outside and… just chilling more.
Now it’s not perfect - my kids get sick of each other and fight, and I wonder if I need to sign them up for something to occupy them… but then I’m reminded there is never going to be a perfect way to do this parent thing. We learn as we go, and we’re all trying our best. This is what is working for my family right now.
Okay, now time for this cocktail!
This cocktail has quietly become part of those summer evenings.
For the last couple of summers, I was convinced nothing could beat an Aperol Spritz. It was my go-to patio drink and the cocktail I'd always make while we were on vacation in Michigan.
Then one night we were out to dinner, and I ordered a Hugo Spritz on a whim. I love anything bubbly, so it immediately caught my eye on the menu.
Let's just say... I was immediately hooked.
It's light, crisp, and has a subtle floral sweetness from the St-Germain elderflower liqueur. Add fresh mint, bubbly Prosecco, and a splash of club soda, and somehow it tastes like summer in a glass. It’s such a fun twist on my usual summer cocktail!
Highly recommend ordering it on your next date night, or making it at home with this easy recipe!

Ingredients
Ice
4-6 fresh mint leaves
1 lime wedge
1½ ounces St-Germain Elderflower Liqueur
3 ounces Prosecco
1 ounce club soda
Fresh mint for garnish
Instructions
Fill a large wine glass with ice.
Lightly clap the mint leaves between your hands to release the aroma before adding them to the glass.
Squeeze in the lime wedge
Pour in the St-Germain.
Top with Prosecco and finish with club soda.
Give everything a gentle stir and garnish with a fresh sprig of mint.
Enjoy immediately on the patio if possible. :)
A Few Tips
The club soda we love is Fever-Tree. We buy the small cans at Target, and they're perfect for cocktails.
Use plenty of ice so the drink stays crisp.
Fresh mint makes all the difference. I recommend buying a mint plant and planting in a small pot!
Garnish with extra mint and a lime slice for a pretty presentation.

One thing I'm learning in this season of life is that joy doesn't usually come from the big things.
It comes from the small things.
It's the coffee before everyone wakes up.
The cookies you've made a hundred times.
Our kids running around with the neighbors or catching fireflies.
And sometimes...
A Hugo Spritz shared with people you love. :)
Cheers to summer!!
