Apple Cider Margaritas

Give me all the seasonal cocktails. We recently were going to dinner at a friend’s house and I needed to bring a season cocktail. A margarita with a fall twist seemed perfect! I love this recipe because the apple cider isn’t overpowering, it’s a really good margarita and perfect for October!

You don’t have to do the cinnamon/sugar/salt garnish, I don’t do it every time I make this. BUT I tell you what… it’s worth it!!! It’s a little salty and a little sweet and a fun touch.

Apple Cider Margaritas

Serving: 2 cocktails

  • 2 ounces tequila

  • 2 ounces apple cider

  • Juice of 1 lime

  • 1 ounce simple syrup (recipe below in the instructions)

  • Garnish options: ground cinnamon, salt and sugar for the rim. Cinnamon stick to put in the cocktail.

Instructions:

  1. Make simple syrup: Boil 1 cup water and 1 cup sugar on the stove. Stire to dissolve as you bring to a boil. After comes to a boil, remove from the heat and let cool. Store in fridge in a mason jar.

  2. Garnish the glasses. Put 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon, 1/4 teaspoon sugar and 1/2 teaspoon of salt on a shallow dish and mix up. Take a lime wedge and run along the rim of the cocktail glasses. Then turn upside down and dip into the cinnamon mixture. Fill the cocktail glasses with crushed ice.

  3. Shake the cocktail: Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add the tequila, cider, lime juice and simple syrup. Shake well. Strain/pour into the cocktail glasses. (If you don’t have a cocktail shaker just use a mason jar and strain into the cocktail glasses).

  4. Garnish drinks with a cinnamon stick. Enjoy!!
